Permaculture Garden Design Goldsmiths
College, New Cross
"This is a new garden space and looks to be quite a challenge. It is
the first session of hopefully an ongoing relationship with the college,
and is made in coordination with the student's EnviroClub. The potential
here is to create a space that maximises the verticality of the
surrounding walls on 3 sides. Click on the link to enlist. Bring food to
share" |

Tuesday 26th
4pm onwards |
Permaculture Garden Design Goldsmiths
College, New Cross
"In this second session we have discovered that the original site has
be reclaimed by the head gardener. Nevertheless, we had a potential of
sites to chose from and have selected a raised triangular bed. In this
second session we will endeavour to plant up and decorate an area in
preparation for the SU summer fayre. Using recycled materials the object
is to build a movable decking and cover the potato patch whilst we await
their sprouting, and then use the area to bring on stage various student
bands, including myself." |

Saturday 13th |
Children's Scrap Percussion Talk Action,
Turnpike Lane
"Working in association with Steve Barbe who runs regular
sessions the family fun day out is a borough run event which caters for
green issues like recycling and climate change. The motive here is to
introduce children to the ideas of scrap as a useful material. These
sessions are incredibly popular and very, very noisy. It will end with a
samba carnival. Click Talk Action or email Jonathon Elliot for more
information." |

of the buildings. These included children. The project has brought in a
number of collaborators including Camberwell Arts College and Southwark
council who's buildings literally sit on the back of the estate. The area
has been selected and now require preparation. The overall scheme is to
plant up a further 3 or 4 orchards (an orchard constitutes 5 trees) in and
around the whole estate which is made up of a number of buildings. There
will be apple pressing on the day."

Forest Gardening and Fruit Production Coed
Hills, St. Hilary, Cardiff
"As the new phase of creating more edible landscapes kicks in we will
be focusing on an area allocated for an orchard/forest garden. There is
already a design of sorts but with permaculture we hope to endorse and
expand it. We will also utilise the existing soft fruit on site including
the introduction of the likes of grapes, kiwis and hops. One day will be
spent tree grafting varieties of various top fruit and contriving a plan
for the existing grafted stock from the previous year, and the following
day will be implementing various food plants into the landscape." Click Coed Hills Rural
Artspace or email info@coedhills.co.uk for more
information."

Sunday 5th 2010

|
Urban Green Fair Brockwell Park,
Brixton
"Click on the front image to access website and here for further information. This year SLP have stepped down from coordinating the Food and Garden zone and will concentrate solely on a picnic area. I am particularly looking for artist contributions regarding this theme. As well as this we are seeking permission to plant a commemorative orchard. The area requires helpers, contributions and workshops. The idea is to create a garden over the course of the weekend, utilising elements from the surrounding zones. The day will end with a big picnic incorporating the food available from the other areas." |
